Ingredients
Small nellikai ( gooseberries ) : 50
Green chilli : 4
Dried red chilli : 3
Mustard : 1 spoon
Fenugreek : a little
Turmeric powder : a little
Salt : 1 spoon
Curry leaves : a few
Asafoetida : a little
Rice : ¼ kilo
Oil : a little
Kadalai paruppu ( bengal gram dal ) : a big spoon
Method of preparation
Cook rice and set aside.
Boil gooseberry with turmeric powder and water.
When cooked, remove the seeds and set aside the flesh portion.
Heat oil in a frying pan.
Add fenugreek, chilli, asafoetida, bengal gram dal, fry and add to the gooseberry.
Add salt, cooked rice and stir well.
Add a little oil, curry leaves and stir.
